Thevishka Kanishkan

Landscape Architect MLA, P.G. Cert, BScH., OALA

Thevishka is a landscape architect with a professional interest in the intersection between accessibility, equity, and good design. Prior to joining PLANT’s team, she was with VTLA Studio, where she worked on projects including the landscape for the Native Child and Family Centre at Scarborough’s Malvern Town Centre and a planting strategy for a large-scale affordable housing complex. She has also worked with non-profit organizations focused on political advocacy, city-building, urban design policy, and the environment. In 2018 she managed the first-ever pop-up park in Yellowknife, NWT, and in 2020 she co-founded Common Space Coalition, a non-profit organization and research incubator that seeks to combat racism in the practice of landscape architecture.
