Nathan Phillips Square Revitalization wins a National Urban Design Award Medal

Yes, it’s horn-tooting time again: the Nathan Phillips Square (NPS) Revitalization has received its second major award in less than a month. The new news is that the entire 13-acre, phased renewal of Toronto’s signature civic plaza has received a National Urban Design Awards medal. The announcement came only three weeks after the Peace Garden component of the NPS Revitalization won a Canadian Society of Landscape Architects National Award of Excellence. The renewal of Toronto City Hall’s plaza was completed last year by PLANT Architect Inc. | Perkins+Will Canada in Joint Venture, with Hoerr Schaudt Landscape Architecture and Adrian Blackwell Urban Projects. You’ll find Steven Evans’s stunning photos of this project on his website and on ours.
