Hey, Girlfriend: take a walk on City Hall’s wild side

Nathalie Prézeau has enjoyed exploring Toronto on foot ever since moving to the city from Montreal 20 years ago. In 2012 she wrote Toronto Urban Strolls … for Girlfriends for anyone whose idea of fun involves walking and talking, preferably with some time for snacking and shopping along the way. Prézeau’s lively guidebook is now in its second edition. We may be a bit biased, but our favourite walk is Number 11: City Hall Green Roof Stroll. Also known as the Podium Roof Garden, Toronto City Hall’s green roof is part of the Nathan Phillips Square Revitalization, the PLANT | Perkins + Will Canada joint venture project that recently earned a National Urban Design Awards Medal. Check out City Hall’s lush roof garden in the latest edition of Toronto Urban Strolls 1, and join Prézeau on another round of amiable T.O. ambles in Urban Strolls 2.
